Personalized, in-home guitar lessons for all ages and skill levels. No apps, no generic videos — just you, your goals, and an instructor who has been performing and teaching since 1996.
Jason DeGeorge began teaching guitar in 1996 and has never stopped. His professional career as a performer and session musician informs every lesson he gives.
My guitar journey began at age 14 and quickly turned into a lifelong passion. By my junior year of high school I was already teaching others — an experience that taught me how important it is to make the subject tangible to each individual student.
After earning a degree in Classical Guitar from the County College of Morris, I went on to New York University where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance, studying under some of the most respected names in the field: Bucky Pizzarelli, Vic Juris, and Ron McClure.
Post-graduation, I embraced the life of a full-time private guitar teacher, studio musician, and performer. My commitment to the craft is unwavering — whether I'm teaching students, recording in the studio, or performing live.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all guitar instruction. Every lesson is crafted around your goals, your pace, and what makes you excited to pick up the guitar.
No prefabricated lesson books. I develop custom material for each student — drills, arrangements, and exercises built around your specific strengths, weaknesses, and musical interests.
From a child learning to hold their first guitar to a retired adult picking it back up, to a seasoned player looking to break through a plateau — I teach at your level with patience and enthusiasm.
You need someone to actually hear you play. In-person instruction gives you immediate feedback, course corrections in real time, and the accountability that apps and YouTube simply can't provide.
My preferred way to teach — and my students' favorite benefit. No extra trips, no studios, no schedules to work around. Just great guitar lessons in the comfort of your own home.
